Kaizen in CSR

We have seen various Kaizen initiatives at AFIL last week , now this post will leave one wondering the beauty of the spread of Kaizen ,

Any organisation would have their own generic and strategic CSR activities , a generic CSR activity would generally limit to giving donations , sponsoring events etc...

At Specialised Systems Limited , we were also doing the same when following  Kaizen  mantra gave a new thought , Why not adopt a girl child for her education , and We found Anita , a brilliant girl child doing her 8th grade in Nelson Mandela School * .

Specialised Systems has adopted Anita to sponsor her education till Grade 12 , and has already paid the school fees for 2015 and has pledged support for the coming years of schooling of Anita .
We have thousands of organisations in Zambia , and just imagine if even 2000 companies (to start with) sponsored k1500 per girl child  per year . We will have the pride of educating 2000 girl children and this can be further improved up on ...

Can you take up the task of educating a girl child ...remembering Educate a Girl , Educate a Nation

Adopt Kaizen in CSR too...

GEMBA KAIZEN APRIL 2015

On the 15th April , the Kaizen Club team was invited by AFIL engineering for a Gemba Kaizen visit to their premises . The program started at 10:00 hrs and was attended by representatives from JICA , KIZ , Specialised Systems , NAC2000 , Realtime and AFIL .

AFIL team gave a presentation of their Kaizen efforts followed by a Gemba ( at workplace) visit by the team . Ito San of JICA and Bernard San of KIZ organised a brainstorming session where the participants split into two groups and discussed what were the good things that were noticed in the Gemba and what were requiring improvements .

AFIL very keenly noted the suggestions for improvement and informed that some of the observations were very useful and can be implemented immediately .

The program concluded with a sumptuous lunch organised by AFIL team .

This marks one of the first major Kaizen interventions in Zambia , where the Industry fraternity opens up for  SHARING KNOWLEDGE & BENCHMARKING BEST PRACTICES .
